Objectives

The entrepreneur Fulvio Lucisano, after previously investing in the first 7 theatres of the “Andromeda” Cinema, desired to further expand the cultural and entertainment sector at the disposal of the city of Brindisi.

From the availability of a residual area the idea to expand the pre-existing multiplex was born, to which will be added 3 screens, further increasing the activity that the multiplex enjoys.

Description

The hub, of which the project is an integral part, is composed of three independent structures, different in nature and in destined use, located in an area with adjacent parking and gardens.

Location of the site near the Palmarini canal has required the need for an attentive analysis of the impact on nature and the surrounding landscape. The proposal therefore includes reconnection of the building lot to the adjacent slope by means of a nascent green area, and the construction of an appropriate rainwater collection, purification and recycling system aimed at preserving streams and improving water usage, thus restoring environmental and scenic elements.

The new structures of the theaters are conceived as an integration between natural and artificial landscapes, consequently one side is covered using the “green vertical wall” system, mitigating the visual impact on the nearby area.

Results

The intervention will result in an increase in the social and cultural attraction of the “Centro di Aggregazione Urbana e Servizi per il Turismo e i Giovani” (Urban Meeting Centre and Services for Tourism and Youth) guaranteeing at the same time a structure of the highest technological relevance. The expansion of the multiplex and the modernization of the appurtenant parking areas will determine an improvement of the city with consequent possibility of future commercial building projects.

Moreover, the client intends to make a 336 seat theatre available to the administration for cultural and educational purposes, to assist in the development of the city of Brindisi.
